About One Bum Cinema Club

One Bum Cinema Club is a travelling cinema just large enough for one person (one bum!). It showcases a selection of hand-picked animations from artists all around the world, and is free to visit wherever it pops up. One Bum Cinema Club is the brainchild of Worthing and Beyond artist Anna Vartiainen, brought to life by Paulie Musselwhite and Matthew Simkins.

Beginning in a cupboard under the stairs, One Bum Cinema Club has now visited Colonnade House, the Neighbourhood Store Shoreham and Anna’s own FOUND Shop & Studio – just to name a few places. Its mission? To make people of all ages “leave with a nice fuzzy feeling inside”.

How They Support Local Creativity

With a goal of championing the work of both new and established animators, the One Bum Cinema Club acts as a platform to expose these talents to a wider audience. They have worked with both international and local animators and studios, such as Laurie Rowan, Animade, Julia Farkas, Lolly Studios, Persistent Peril, Lucas Zanotto and more, and are always looking for more collaborators. They also attend events like the Artists Open Houses. Get in touch if you want to collaborate!
