The majority of Laurie’s work online is exciting to us for these two reasons:

  1. It’s brilliant and complete.
  2. Yet it still suggests work in progress.

There are similarities to the way the Scottish comedian and writer Limmy went about promoting his early work. Create brilliant short form content and share it – create a buzz, build an audience that willingly feed back, and attract attention from the sorts of people who can move you to the next level.

Laurie now has two Baftas, so he’s moved on from ‘building a buzz’ somewhat. His work is mainly in character animation. His creations are something you want to pick up and place in the palm of your hand. You imagine their world’s and friends, and hope to see them again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if my children are demanding the latest Laurie Rowan toy for Christmas 2022.
