Steve Carroll is an artist who doesn’t give much away on his website in terms of his story or how he works – but his Facebook page in particular shows off enough of his finished work and sketches that you can build up a sense of what makes him tick.

His official website shows off a particular style of his work, which is quite different to anything else I’ve seen in Worthing. He describes his images as ‘idiosyncratic’ – I guess meaning peculiar. Some of them certainly are. You can guess what mood Steve was in when he created certain pieces. There is humour in some of the work, and usually something slightly unusual that catches your eye. I feel there’s a good story behind every piece of his work – but he’s left that story up to us… and I guess that’s what art is all about!
